Call for Contributions for Magpie Times
Magpie News:
We’re looking for articles and gallery projects for our upcoming issue of Magpie Times: Busy Bees. Send them to magpietimesmagazine@gmail.com. We’d love to see articles and gallery projects that bring Spring to mind, especially bees and other pollinators. Rug hooking, punch, embroidery, quilting, other fiber arts… we love it all. The deadline to receive contributions is Feb. 1, 2025. If we can’t fit you in this upcoming issue, we’ll save it for a future one. All contributors will receive a free digital issue including their project. Magpie Times: Busy Bees, in print and digital, will be released on March 17, 2025 (but you can pre-order now).
Two other requests: how about Letters to the Editor? Let us know what you like, or topics you’d like us to feature in the future. Also, if you’ve tried any of our free patterns (over 60 in the first year!) we’d love to see what you did with them. I’m hoping to do more articles like the Gee’s Bend piece, where we had 25 different interpretations of the same pattern!
I still have print copies of Midsummer Magic, Country Fair, and Marshmallow World, and of course, the digital issues of all 4 from 2024. Did you know we’re now offering a digital subscription to Magpie Times? You get 4 issues for the price of 3!
Occasionally, when my books come from the printer, the covers get lightly scuffed. I don’t like to sell them for full price, so I offer them for $14 each (while they last). It’s just the covers that got dinged, the insides are perfect! Right now, I have a few copies of Magpie Times: Midsummer Magic, and T-Shirt Treasures available.
I put up my tentative schedule of Shows and Classes 2025. My first show this year will be Red Alder Fiber Arts in Tacoma, WA, February 13-16. If you’re in the area, come by and say hi!
